'Everyone
at UTI Institue of Capital Markets was curious about why an
advertising/marketing person with IIM grounding should learn
technical trend analysis. Even the Dean asked me one day.' |

My name is Arunangshu M Lahiri. Born in July
1953. So I am 53 now. I am also called
ShareBaba for my
saffron dress. Mind you,
the dress has nothing to do with any
spiritual or religious leanings. Nor
political. I like wearing saffron, the colour seems to have affected me profoundly,
changing my lifestyle, my thinking, my
senses.
Starting my career in advertising agency in
1975, I studied professional course in
advertising management and later attended
training course also. I believe very
strongly that by attending specialised
training you acquire in very short time the
knowledge and expertise that otherwise would
have taken years to learn through
experience.
After a 10 year stint in ad agencies, I
again went back to study - a grounding in
marketing management from IIM Calcutta. I
moved to Mumbai to head an all India
franchise operation. Returning to Kolkata in
1990 for family commitments, I spent the
next few years working on several projects.
In 1994, I was delighted to be selected as
the only participant from eastern India at
UTI's Institute of Capital Markets course on
Technical Trend Analysis.
I stayed back at New Mumbai campus joining
another training on computerised operations
of stock market, learning the new
technology-led trading that had just been
introduced in India with the launching of
National Stock Exchange in November, 1994.
I was associated in later years with Shriram
Investment group, Kotakstreet.com of Kotak
Mahindra's e-broking arm; Mumbai's research
and analyst firm Equitymaster.com and the
renowned brokerage company India Infoline to
dive business operations in Kolkata.
I took few years off from the stock market
scene and joined as Director in Mumbai ad
agency. I was also Director of an Internet
business firm in Mumbai. Later, as I had to
come back in Kolkata again to be with my
family, I worked for a couple of years as
Vice President in a software company with
responsibility for building the internet
business platform.
I started PRISM Intraday Trading system in
2002 on the trading platform software of
India Infoline. In 2003, I launched the
training program. On a very conservative
basis, I have actually traded Rs 6 million
in intraday and swing trades to perfect the
PRISM system.
Following the untimely death of my wife in
2004, I have settled in Bangalore,
conducting training on the system. I
travel extensively all over India to conduct
training sessions.
I have also launched the highly popular
PRISM Profit Plan meant for intraday traders
who want to make money regularly in intraday
trading but do not have the intention to
learn the system. |
